Alaska Backcountry Hunters and Anglers use education, advocacy and hard work to promote conservation and protection of habitat and sound stewardship of fish and wildlife. Our work involves such things as written and oral testimony before the Alaska legislature, testimony to Alaska's Board of Game and Board of Fisheries, newspaper and magazine articles, outreach at sporting shows, public speaking, grass-roots volunteerism, and education via our website and other venues.

Alaska Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is committed to the long-term conservation of the wild places that our wild game and fish populations depend upon, and to promoting stable and sustainable populations of all of Alaska's native fish and game species. We strive to ensure that future generations of hunters and anglers are provided the same opportunities that we have now, to include public lands that hold the full complement of predators and prey, and clean, free-flowing waters for continued and unparalleled fishing opportunities.
